The Cottonridge Story

When I started the Cottonridge brand in 2007 (the same year AWD launched their Just Hoods College hoodie) I had a very small screenprint company and very little money, but I thought I could offer a better hoodie to my customers than the mundane offering from the brands through the multi-brand distributors, so I used literally all the money I had in the bank to buy a 20’ container of navy and black hoodies with the intention of supplying them to my screenprint customers.

The product that arrived was so superior to the offerings available from other brands that I decided to try to sell them to other printshops as well as supply my screenprint customers. This was the defining moment when Cottonridge was born. Other printshops could also see the superior quality at a lower price and sales took off, so much so, that distributing hoodies became my sole focus and I handed the screen print operation to my son who had just left university and put all my efforts into building the Cottonridge brand starting with my one style in two colours.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have access to family or corporate funds like the big brands which is why it has taken a nearly 20-year journey to get to where we are now with 26 styles (and growing) in over 90 colours supplied from our 60,000sq ft warehouse in Stafford.
